About the Career
Flight instructors are responsible for training and educating student pilots on how to fly various types of aircraft. They provide both ground-based instruction on aviation theory, regulations, and procedures, as well as hands-on flight training. The main goal of a flight instructor is to help student pilots develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and judgment to become safe, competent, and licensed pilots.
Flight instructors work closely with their students, often taking them through the entire process of obtaining a private, commercial, or instrument pilot's license. They evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and ensure students meet all regulatory requirements set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Flight instructors must maintain a high level of proficiency in flying and aviation knowledge in order to effectively train their students.
