About the Program
The Aviation Maintenance Technology: Powerplant AAS program provides comprehensive training in the maintenance and repair of aircraft engines and propulsion systems. Students learn techniques for inspecting, troubleshooting, and servicing aircraft powerplants, fuel systems, and auxiliary power units to FAA standards.

The Powerplant curriculum covers topics such as turbine engines, reciprocating engines, engine overhaul, propeller systems, and aircraft fuel metering. Graduates will be eligible to take the FAA Powerplant Mechanic certification exams and pursue careers maintaining and repairing the engines and propulsion systems found on a variety of aircraft.
